NBA Legend Paul Pierce and Poker Hall of Famer Phil Ivey to Join Joe Lubin of Consensys for a Virtue Poker Charity Tournament

Virtue Poker revealed plans to organize a high-stakes 12-player celebrity poker tournament on its platform, live-streamed on Twitch, with the winner donating the event’s proceeds to their preferred charitable organization.

Celebrity Charity Tournament Features NFTs & Giveaways

Virtue Poker, one of the first decentralized casinos to use Ethereum and peer-to-peer networking, will soon host a charity poker tournament on its platform. Scheduled for June 22nd, the event will feature several renowned industry personalities alongside exclusive prizes and giveaways.

Poker pro players Brian Rast, Poker Hall of Famer Phil Ivey, NBA Hall of Famer Paul Pierce, Consensys Co-Founder Joe Lubin, crypto entrepreneurs Nick Rose from Ethernity and Elliotrades from Superfarm, and other influencers will be participating. In addition to the celebrities, Virtue Poker will also select three lucky community members, one each from Ethernity, Virtue Poker, and Superfarm, to compete at the table.

The event will be a standard no-limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament, consisting of two rounds, with six players per table. Following the first round, three players from each table will move to the final round. The winner will determine the charitable organization that receives the proceeds from the event. Other than the charitable cause, Virtue Poker, in partnership with Superfarm, will also issue NFTs to each celebrity, which will be used as a ‘bounty’ during the tournament.

Live-streamed on Twitch and the player’s private channels, this event also includes many awards and giveaways for viewers. By tuning in to the live stream and making real-time predictions, viewers can increase their eligibility for special prizes announced during the event.

Consensys incubated Virtue Poker in 2016. Led by Ryan Gittleson, the decentralized poker platform has been part of several successful funding rounds. It is backed by some of the biggest names in venture capital and private investors, including Pantera Capital, Fenbushi Capital, JRR, and more.

CEO Ryan Gittleson is confident about the upcoming tournament, commenting,

Virtue Poker is excited to take this next step to drive awareness and adoption of the world’s first blockchain-based P2P poker platform. Through our execution of our Celebrity Poker Charity event, Virtue Poker will be able to grow our community’s foundation as well as showcase the platform to a broad audience.
